Only use equipment that you have been shown how to use, follow the procedures connected to your Technical Licences, and always follow the equipment sign-out and return process.
Carry gear carefully, keep tripods and light stands stable, and never climb on furniture or work at height without permission and adult supervision. Do not hold or place equipment above other people, and make sure lights and stands are properly secured before filming.
If something is damaged or not working properly, let me know right away.
Keep hallways, doorways and filming areas clear of bags, cables and equipment. Pay attention to where people are moving and do not create trip hazards.
Do not run, wrestle or goof around with gear. There is lots of room to have fun while making films, but not in a way that makes the space unsafe or puts other people or equipment at risk.
The same classroom culture applies when you are filming. Be kind, be reliable, listen to each other, and make sure everyone has a chance to contribute. Take your role seriously, follow through on what you have agreed to do, and remember that your choices affect the rest of the group.
Film sets should still be fun and creative, but they also need trust and focus. Respect people’s ideas, work through disagreements without shutting people down, and help create a set where everyone feels comfortable doing their job.
We are really fortunate to be part of a school community that is supportive of students filming in and around the building. That only works if we are respectful of the people who are sharing the space with us.
Before leaving the classroom, your group must sign out your filming location so I know where you are at all times. If you move somewhere else, update the sign-out sheet.
You also need permission to use spaces in and around the school. Be aware of other classes, teachers and staff, keep noise down, and do not block doors, stairways or busy areas.
Always get consent before filming someone. If someone does not want to be recorded, respect that.
Do not rush set-up or clean-up. A lot of damage happens when people are hurrying.
Everyone in the group helps return equipment, clean the space and put things back where they belong. Return to class at least 10 minutes before the bell rings so that you have time to offloaf your footage.
Wrap does not mean leave. You are finished when the gear is returned and the room is ready for the next class. If you are part of the CLosign shift group, you must be abck in class with enough time to do your jobs
