I am adopting a Modern Classroom approach in the film classroom. This means that you can move through lessons at your own pace, revisit things when you need more practice, and move ahead when you are ready. I make all my own resources and find it works best when we have a "digital textbook" that students can access at all times. By making instructional videos of most of the foundaitonal skills we cover in this class, I am free to do the more meaningul one-on-one or small group work with students becauce I don't need to do whole class lectures.
And just a note - working at your own pace does not mean working alone. Film is collaborative, and we will still spend lots of time working in groups, making projects, having screenings and doing things together as a class. We will also have common project deadlines, so you are responsible for keeping track of your progress.
